This Is Not Your Father’s Virtual Office

by Courtney Ramirez on September 14, 2011

A conversation on mobile workers and the explosion of virtual offices with Laurent Dhollande, CEO of Cloud Virtual Offices, and Scott Chambers, Managing Partner of Pacific Business Centers. (Reposted from Executive Suite Success Magazine, September 2011)

Revved Results (RR): Laurent, we knew you before as CEO of Pacific Business Centers in California. Why this move to Cloud Virtual Offices?

Laurent Dhollande (LD): Virtual offices have been a growing business for several years, built on the strength of home-based entrepreneurs and virtual companies. What is really significant today is that corporate workers are joining in, as they leave their corporate offices in droves, thanks to mobile tools, social media, life-style choices, and their company’s desire to eliminate dedicated office space. I could not resist the business opportunity this mega-trend represents for Cloud Virtual Offices. We are building a service platform with our OBC and technology partners to support mobile workers seamlessly where ever they need to do work.

RR: Scott, are you replacing Laurent as CEO of Pacific Business Centers?

Scott Chambers (SC): We haven’t sorted out this quite yet but we really have a collegial approach, with a group of six Managing Partners including myself running Pacific Business Centers. That won’t change.

The V Myth

by Keith Warner on January 14, 2010

Is the “office” component of a “Virtual Office” really “virtual”?

When my father and I started offering Virtual Offices 25 years ago they were not called “Virtual Offices”.  In fact, to my knowledge, the term “Virtual Office” was not used in its present context until about 1994.

We were simply meeting the demand of individuals calling and saying, “we don’t really need a full time office, do you have something we could use part-time that costs less?”, with our supply of empty offices.  Thus, our “Part-Time Office Plan” was formed.  These were home based entrepreneurs and start ups that needed an inexpensive alternative to leased office space, as well as professional phone answering and an appropriate business address.

by Kim Seipel on January 4, 2010

So you finally signed up for that Virtual Office - but people often don’t realize all the services that can be leveraged with Virtual Offices.  A professional business address, call answering services, and conference rooms to meet with clients are standard with any good virtual package, but what about staff to help you with administrative tasks?

Virtual Offices: Compete In A Cloud Based World

by Nick DeGraff on December 3, 2009

The current economy presents an opportunity for new startups, as well as large corporate entities, to transition to mobile and ‘virtual’ workforces … both out of necessity and a new understanding of the future business landscape.  (Read: mobile, flexible, technology based)  The trend to cloud-based business operations is undeniable.

Unfortunately, the discussion has been of internal organization issues and productivity as potential problems that the transition to a virtual workforce present.  While these may be issues to heed, in our experience, working everyday with home-based businesses and telecommuters, we have found that there is a much more critical problem for successful home-based operations.

There are many advantages to virtual office space, but finding a suitable provider can be a cumbersome and confusing process.  The best starting point is to do determine what city or location makes sense for your business, then do an internet search; For example, “Virtual office in San Francisco, California, and make appointments to visit [...]

Location, Location, Location!

October 13, 2009

In its June 10, 1956 issue, The Van Nuys (Calif.) News said the three most important things about real estate were location, location, location.  Since then this phrase has become the mantra of every Real Estate Professional east and west of the Mississippi!
I would certainly agree with this notion that location is so important that [...]

Your Green Virtual Office Space

September 1, 2009

Just about everyone today is looking for ways to ‘go green.’  The green evolution started years ago when the public was educated on the benefits of carpooling into work to conserve energy, or telecommuting to save on expensive gas prices. The virtual office is the future of our evolution of environmental consciousness in the workplace. [...]
